Abstract

Jorong Salimpaung has significant potential for developing cinnamon bark as a strategic commodity to strengthen the local community economy. However, farmers’ productivity remains relatively low due to limited access to financing schemes that align with their socio-economic conditions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of a sharia financing model as an alternative approach to increasing cinnamon bark productivity in Jorong Salimpaung. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the application of sharia-based financing has a positive impact on increasing production output, farmers’ income, and overall community welfare. Financing models grounded in the principles of justice and partnership are considered more suitable for the characteristics of local farmers. This study recommends strengthening sharia financial literacy, developing local sharia economic institutions, and enhancing government support in agricultural infrastructure to promote sustainable rural agriculture
