<![CDATA[Background: Temporary rejection of potential blood donors due to ineligibility can impact blood availability. This study aims to describe the incidence, contributing factors, and characteristics of the percentage of temporary rejections of potential blood donors at the Gunungkidul Regency PMI Blood Donor Unit (UDD) in 2025 based on donor requirements. Methods: This descriptive quantitative study used a cross-sectional approach. Secondary data was collected from the Gunungkidul Regency PMI Blood Donor Management Information System (SIMDONDAR) for the period January–December 2025. Using total sampling, a sample of 3,133 potential donors who experienced temporary rejections was obtained. Data were analyzed using frequency distributions and percentages. Results and Discussion: The majority of potential donors who were temporarily rejected were in the 25–44 age group (1,528 people (48.8%), and 1,829 were female (54.8%). The main factors causing rejection were medical history (hypertension, hypotension, medication use, and post-surgery) in 1,145 people (36.5%), followed by low hemoglobin (HB) levels in 1,070 people (34.2%), and high HB levels in 509 people (16.2%). Other factors included other reasons in 151 people (4.8%), failed blood sampling in 140 people (4.5%), high-risk behavior in 64 people (2.0%), weight less than 50 kg in 35 people (1.1%), age under 17 years old in 19 people (0.6%), and travel history to high-risk areas in 0 people (0%). Conclusion: Temporary rejections of potential blood donors at the Gunungkidul PMI Blood Donor Unit (UDD) were dominated by productive age groups and women, with the main contributing factors being medical history and hemoglobin level issues.
