ABSTRACT This study examines choreographic practices in the dance work Orang-orangan Orang through a phenomenological approach and the concept of embodied knowledge, positioning the body as the center of both experience and artistic meaning-making. The research employs Arts-Based Research (ABR) and Alfiyanto's Artistic Relation Creation Method as methodological foundations in the creative process. These approaches support a creative process oriented not only toward the formation of performance aesthetics, but also toward the production of knowledge through embodied and reflective bodily experiences. The findings reveal that the choreography develops through repetitive, fragmented, and situational bodily experiences. The dancer's body functions as an archive of experience containing memory, affect, and responses to social pressures and environmental changes. Through the metaphor of the "scarecrow," the work represents the contemporary human body situated between alienation, vulnerability, and social resistance. Thus, the body is understood as a locus of creation possessing creative, reflective, and epistemological capacities within contemporary choreographic practice.
