EVALUASI PEMANFAATAN ARANG AKTIF DALAM MEREDUKSI SENYAWA BESI AIR SUMUR BOR

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas arang aktif yang berasal dari berbagai bahan, yaitu tongkol jagung, tempurung kelapa, dan kayu ketapang, dalam mereduksi senyawa besi (Fe) pada air sumur bor di SMK Negeri 1 Popayato Gorontalo dan analisis sampel air di Laboratorium PT. Parigi Akuakultura Prima site Sijoli. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL)dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa arang kayu Ketapang memiliki presentase penurunan kadar Fe tertinggi sebesar 30%,diikuti arang tongkol jagung 18,89 %, tempurung kelapa 12,34 %, dan Air sumur bor (komtrol) 11,05 %.. Parameter uji pada penelitian ini yaitu laju adsorpsi. Adapun parameter kualitas air yang diamati yaitu, suhu, ph, Do, dan salinitas. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa perlakuan arang aktif kayu ketapang paling efektif dengan rata-rata removal 30 %. Diikutu tongkol jagung 18,89 %, tempurung kelapa 12,34 % dan air sumur bor (kontrol) 11,05 % dalam mereduksi senyawa besi pada air sumur bor. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of activated charcoal derived from various materials, namely corn cobs, coconut shells, and ketapang wood, in reducing iron (Fe) compounds in borehole water at Vocational High School (SMK) Negeri 1 Popayato Gorontalo and water sample analysis at the PT. Parigi Akuakultura Prima site Sijoli Laboratory. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replicates. The results indicated that Ketapang wood charcoal had the highest percentage of Fe reduction at 30%, followed by corn cob charcoal at 18.89%, coconut shells at 12.34%, and borehole water (control) at 11.05%. The test parameter in this study was the adsorption rate. The water quality parameters observed were temperature, pH, DO, and salinity. The results of the research concluded that Ketapang wood activated charcoal treatment was the most effective, with an average removal rate of 30%. This technique was followed by corn cobs at 18.89%, coconut shells at 12.34%, and borehole water (control) at 11.05% in reducing iron compounds in borehole water.
