Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyles can be seen from the lifestyle of people who tend to be modern, which can be seen from lifestyle, irregular eating patterns, fast food, smoking habits, alcohol consumption and other behaviors that can increase the number of people suffering from degenerative diseases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 422 million people in the world suffer from diabetes. The increase in premature mortality rates by 3% between 2000–2019 and the high risk of complications such as kidney failure and blindness make diabetes a serious chronic disease. In Indonesia, the prevalence reached 10.06% (19.46 million people) and increased to 11.7% based on the 2023 SKI. In West Sumatra, the number of cases increased from 48,616 (2022) to 52,355 (2023/2024), making diabetes the second most common disease. Data at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital shows a significant increase in the number of diabetes cases from year to year. The purpose of this Scientific Paper is to provide Nursing Care for Patients with Type II Diabetes. The method used is a case study with 1 patient, this case study was conducted in the Muzdalifah Room of Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital on January 28 - February 3, 2026, after the assessment, a nursing diagnosis emerged, namely: Instability of blood glucose levels, nutritional deficits, impaired skin/tissue integrity. The evaluation obtained during 5 days of nursing care for the patient was instability of blood glucose levels, nutritional deficits, impaired skin/tissue integrity resolved on the 5th day, and impaired sense of comfort resolved on the 4th day. It can be concluded that with good nursing care can improve the health status of patients. It is hoped that patients and families can care for, anticipate, and provide support in home care, are able to maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially diet, and can utilize the nearest health facilities, so that the patient's blood glucose levels are controlled and the family is protected from disease.
