Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis can cause respiratory problems, significant weight loss, weakness, and even permanent reduction in lung capacity, even death. Pulmonary tuberculosis is the 10th leading cause of death in the world, with Indonesia being the second largest contributor (1.09 million cases) to the total tuberculosis burden. This disease remains a significant health problem, marked by the high incidence rate in various regions, one of which is at Aisyiyah Hospital Pariaman with the highest incidence rate in 2024 of 104 cases. This study aims to understand and provide nursing care to patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The research method used is a case study conducted by means of observation, interviews, physical examinations and documentation studies, and nursing care was carried out in the Muzdalifah Room, Aisyiyah Hospital, Pariaman City, from February 24, 2026 to February 28, 2026, with 1 patient, namely Mrs. J. After 5 days of nursing care, six nursing problems were identified: ineffective airway clearance, hypovolemia, hyperthermia, nutritional deficits, unstable blood glucose levels, and the risk of infection. Implementation included airway management, effective coughing exercises, hypovolemia management, hyperthermia management, nutritional management, hyperglycemia management, and infection prevention. The results showed an improvement in the patient's health after receiving nursing care. Future efforts to improve education, treatment monitoring, and cross-sectoral collaboration are needed to effectively eradicate pulmonary tuberculosis.

Abstract

Unhealthy lifestyles can be seen from the lifestyle of people who tend to be modern, which can be seen from lifestyle, irregular eating patterns, fast food, smoking habits, alcohol consumption and other behaviors that can increase the number of people suffering from degenerative diseases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 422 million people in the world suffer from diabetes. The increase in premature mortality rates by 3% between 2000–2019 and the high risk of complications such as kidney failure and blindness make diabetes a serious chronic disease. In Indonesia, the prevalence reached 10.06% (19.46 million people) and increased to 11.7% based on the 2023 SKI. In West Sumatra, the number of cases increased from 48,616 (2022) to 52,355 (2023/2024), making diabetes the second most common disease. Data at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital shows a significant increase in the number of diabetes cases from year to year. The purpose of this Scientific Paper is to provide Nursing Care for Patients with Type II Diabetes. The method used is a case study with 1 patient, this case study was conducted in the Muzdalifah Room of Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital on January 28 - February 3, 2026, after the assessment, a nursing diagnosis emerged, namely: Instability of blood glucose levels, nutritional deficits, impaired skin/tissue integrity. The evaluation obtained during 5 days of nursing care for the patient was instability of blood glucose levels, nutritional deficits, impaired skin/tissue integrity resolved on the 5th day, and impaired sense of comfort resolved on the 4th day. It can be concluded that with good nursing care can improve the health status of patients. It is hoped that patients and families can care for, anticipate, and provide support in home care, are able to maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially diet, and can utilize the nearest health facilities, so that the patient's blood glucose levels are controlled and the family is protected from disease.

Abstract

Typhoid fever is said to be an acute infectious disease of the digestive system caused by the bacteria Salmonella Typhi and is a global infectious disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 11–20 million cases occur each year with a mortality rate of 128,000–161,000 people. In Indonesia, the prevalence of typhoid fever reaches 1.7% with a morbidity rate of around 500 per 100,000 people, and predominantly occurs in children aged 5–14 years. In West Sumatra Province, the incidence rate reaches 1.51% and in Pariaman City it is 1.6%. Data at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital shows that in 2025 there were 225. The purpose of this Scientific Paper is to provide Nursing Care to Patient Mr. B, With Typhoid Fever. The method used is a case study with 1 patient, this case study was conducted in the Muzdalifah Room of Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital on January 28 - February 3, 2026, after the assessment, a nursing diagnosis emerged, namely: Hyperthermia, Risk of Nutritional Deficit, Constipation and Risk of Bleeding. The implementation carried out includes Hyperthermia Management, Nutritional Management, Constipation Management and Prevention of Bleeding. The evaluation obtained during 5 days of nursing care for the patient is that the Risk of nutritional deficit and constipation can be resolved on the 5th day, Hyperthermia and Risk of Bleeding can be resolved in 4 days. It is recommended to patients and families to maintain personal and environmental hygiene, consume hygienic food and drinks, and comply with treatment to prevent recurrence of typhoid fever.
