Urbanization has brought changes to people's lifestyles, including relationships and interactions between family members. Workloads, high mobility, and technological advancements have the potential to reduce the intensity of family togetherness. This study aims to analyze the role of religious and cultural rituals in strengthening family solidarity in urban Medan. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with observation and in-depth interviews with 10 Mandailing respondents residing at Jl. Sisingamangaraja No. 11 A-H, Harjosari II, Medan Amplas District, Medan City. The results show that religious and cultural rituals play an important role in strengthening emotional bonds, instilling values of togetherness, mutual cooperation, respect for parents, and maintaining family identity. Although urban life causes some rituals to be carried out more simply, the values and meanings contained within them are still maintained. Therefore, religious and cultural rituals are still relevant as a means of strengthening family solidarity amidst the dynamics of urban life.
