<![CDATA[The relationship between humans and religion is an important subject in the Islamic perspective because it is closely related to human nature, moral potential, and the purpose of life. Islam views humans as beings composed of both material and non-material elements who possess the potentials of taqwa (piety) and fujur (wickedness), both of which influence human behavior. This study aims to analyze the concept of humans in Islam and the relationship between humans and religion in shaping moral, spiritual, and social life. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of Islamic literature and relevant scholarly sources. The findings reveal that the Qur’an uses several terms to describe humans, namely al-basyar, al-insān, al-nās, and banī Ādam, each carrying distinct meanings and characteristics. Humans are endowed with intellect (‘aql), heart (qalb), and desire (nafs) as fundamental potentials that enable them to distinguish between good and evil. Religion functions as a guide for life that directs humans to develop the potential of taqwa, shape morality and ethics, attain inner peace, and establish harmonious social relationships. In addition to being servants of Allah, humans are also entrusted with the role of khalifah (vicegerent) on earth to preserve and manage nature responsibly. In conclusion, religion plays a vital role in human life as a source of values, moral guidance, and fulfillment of spiritual needs in achieving happiness in both worldly and eternal life.]]>
