<![CDATA[ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the factors that cause people to buy used used goods in Pontianak City. Actually this used clothing has been banned by the government because it has an impact on the health of the body of consumers who buy imported used clothing because in used clothing there are bacteria and fungi that can cause disease for the wearer or buyer of used clothing. However, consumers are still desperate to buy used clothes because in this modern era, people pay more attention to lifestyle in fashion than to pay attention to their health. This is the reason why used clothes still exist and continue to be sold in traditional markets and even to modern markets.Data collection techniques in this study using a qestiounnaire. The population in this study were people who had bought used clothes in the uka market area and the area around dr. sutomo. the sample in this study were as many as 20 respondents. Sampling using Accidental Sampling. The data analysis techniques used in this research study are; First, Percentage Analysis to determine the identity of the respondents. Second, Questionnaire Analysis to determine the factors that cause consumers to buy used clothes suitable for use in Pontianak City.The results of the percentage analysis based on the identity of the respondents consist of three indicators. First, the age in this study, the majority of respondents' identities are aged 15 to 54 years. Second, based on occupation, most of the respondents work as private employees. Third, based on what was purchased, most of the respondents preferred clothes/t-shirts. While the results of the questionnaire analysis of this study indicate that the need for clothing, low prices, and brands sold have a very large impact on the cause of consumers to buy used clothes in Pontianak City. Keyword : the reason why consumers buy used clothes in the city of Pontianak ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab masyarakat membeli pakai bekas layak pakai di Kota Pontianak. Sebenarnya pakaian bekas ini sudah dilarang oleh pemerintah karena berdampak pada kesehatan tubuh konsumen yang membeli pakaian bekas impor karena didalam pakaian bekas terdapat bakteri dan jamur yang dapat menimbulkan penyakit bagi pemakai atau pembeli pakaian bekas. Akan tetapi tetap saja para konsumen tetap nekat untuk membeli pakaian bekas tersebut karena di jaman modern ini masyarakat lebih memperhatikan gaya hidup dalam berfashion ketimbang memperhatikan kesehatan tubuhnya. Hal ini lah yang menyebabkan kenapa pakaian bekas sampai saat ini masih tetap ada dan terus masih dijual di pasar-pasar tradisional bahkan sampai dijual ke pasar-pasar modern. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam kajian ini dengan menggunakan kuisioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah para masyarakat yang pernah membeli pakaian bekas di area pasar uka dan area sekitaran dr.sutomo. sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 20 orang responden. Kajian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif, Pengambilan sampel menggunakan Accidental Sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam kajian penelitian ini adalah; Pertama, Analisis Persentase untuk mengetahui identitas responden. Kedua, Analisis Kuisioner untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab konsumen membeli pakaian bekas layak pakai di Kota Pontianak. Hasil analisis persentase berdasarkan identitas responden terdiri dari tiga indikator. Pertama, umur dalam kajian ini maka mayoritas identitas responden berumur 15 hingga 54 tahun. Kedua, berdasarkan pada pekerjaan maka sebagian besar responden bekerja sebagai karyawan swasta. Ketiga, berdasarkan yang dibeli sebagian besar responden lebih memilih baju/kaos. Sedangkan hasil dari analisis kuisioner kajian ini menunjukan bahwa kebutuhan pakaian, harga yang murah, dan merek yang dijual memiliki dampak yang sangat besar terhadap konsumen yang membeli pakaian bekas pakai di Kota Pontianak.
