omen in patriarchal societies are always confronted with social constructs that place the domestic sphere as the primary space for fulfilling their identity. This condition gradually obscures women's personal identities because their existence is more often interpreted thru their roles as wives and mothers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to reveal the identity crisis of women found in the short story "Ibu" by Zulfah Nur Alimah from a liberal feminist perspective. The research results show that the identity crisis is formed thru choices that appear to be personal decisions, but are actually driven by patriarchal values that place women in a subordinate position. As a result, the autonomy of female characters is superficial because the choices made always occur within the boundaries of social values that have previously shaped and determined the ideal roles of women in society. Abstrak Perempuan dalam masyarakat patriakal selalu dihadapkan pada konstruksi sosial yang menempatkan ranah domestik sebagai ruang utama bagi pemenuhan identitasnya. Kondisi tersebut secara perlahan mengaburkan identitas personal perempuan karena keberadaannya lebih dimaknai melalui peran sebagai istri dan ibu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengungkap krisis identitas perempuan yang terdapat dalam cerpen Ibu karya Zulfah Nur Alimah dengan perspektif feminisme liberal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa krisis identitas tersebut terbentuk melalui pilihan-pilihan yang tampak sebagai keputusan personal, tetapi sesungguhnya digerakkan oleh nilai-nilai patriarkal yang menempatkan perempuan pada posisi subordinat. Akibatnya, otonomi perempuan bersifat semu karena pilihan yang diambil senantiasa berlangsung dalam batas-batas nilai sosial yang telah lebih dahulu membentuk dan menentukan peran ideal perempuan di dalam masyarakat.
