Abstract

Biodiversity is greatly influenced by environmental conditions, so changes in these conditions have the potential to threaten the existence of aquatic resources. This study aims to analyze the biodiversity of aquatic resources in the Lantebung mangrove ecotourism area. The research used a descriptive quantitative model approach and was conducted from October to November 2023 in the Lantebung mangrove ecotourism area, Makassar. The results showed that the number of fish identified was 9.985 individuals from 29 species and 19 families. Based on this number, Short silverbelly (Gerresabbreviatus) was identified as having the highest number of 3.904 individuals. Meanwhile, at the family level, Leiognathidae was the most dominant, with a total of 4.688 individuals. The species diversity index (H') is 1.7 with a moderate category, the species evenness index (E) is 0.5 with moderate criteria or a labile community, while the species dominance index (C) is 0.24 with low dominance criteria.
