Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to provide environmentally friendly water storage tanks to improve access to clean water for communities affected by the hydrometeorological disaster that occurred in November of the previous year. The program was initiated based on field observations conducted by the project team in January 2026, which revealed limited access to clean water in the post-flood period. The implementation methods included coordination, community outreach, direct demonstrations, water tank installation, technical assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The program's success indicators included the successful installation and utilization of the water tanks, improved community knowledge of their operation and maintenance, and enhanced access to clean water for affected residents. The results showed that the installed water tanks functioned effectively as clean water storage facilities, enabling the community to meet its daily water needs after the flood. Evaluation results indicated that 80% of participants understood the proper procedures for using the water tank, 92% understood the water filling procedure, and 84% understood the appropriate use of the stored water. In addition to improving community capacity in managing clean water facilities, the program contributed to maintaining the availability of clean water for flood-affected communities and strengthening community resilience to future hydrometeorological disasters.
