Through reading various knowledge, which can lead to success, we can get. In this study the aim was to describe the optimization of the Reading Board for grade 1 reading skills at SDN KALORAN KIDUL. Reading difficulties were felt by grade 1 so the researchers focused on this research. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' reading skills during the learning process using learning media, namely reading boards. The ability to read is the basis for mastering various fields of education. Where reading is a window to the world. This expression reveals the benefits of reading, namely opening and broadening one's views and knowledge.
