The role of educators at Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Azhar is crucial in nurturing and developing students' moral character (akhlak), as they are required to supervise students around the clock (24/7). This study aims to identify the role of educators in fostering students' moral character at Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Azhar Gresik and to examine the supporting and inhibiting factors. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model (data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing). Findings reveal that the ustadz's roles include: (a) fostering moral character during teaching and learning activities, (b) delivering moral content and serving as role models for students, and (c) acting as surrogate parents within the pesantren environment. Meanwhile, the administrators' roles encompass: (a) enforcing sanctions for violations, (b) nurturing moral character outside classroom hours, and (c) motivating and reminding students of the ustadz's teachings on moral character.
