<![CDATA[This study aims to examine the application of the role playing method based on Balinese mesatwa “Kambing Takutin Macan” as an innovative strategy to improve students’ language skills at the elementary school level. The role playing method is an active learning approach that directly engages students in enacting the roles of story characters, thereby encouraging authentic and contextual language use. The Balinese mesatwa “Kambing Takutin Macan” was selected as the story basis because it contains rich dialogues, engaging conflicts, and high moral values that provide an ideal context for language skill development. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that the application of the role playing method based on Balinese mesatwa significantly improves four dimensions of students’ language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These findings confirm that Balinese mesatwa represents an authentic, contextual, and meaningful local wisdom-based learning resource for developing language skills in elementary school students.]]>
