This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of various group counseling approaches in improving students’ self-disclosure. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA guidelines. Data were collected through Google Scholar within the publication range of 2021–2026 using the keywords “self-disclosure” AND “group counseling”. The inclusion criteria consisted of quantitative studies with experimental or quasi-experimental designs focusing on improving self-disclosure through group counseling, resulting in 10 selected articles. The findings indicate that various approaches, including self-disclosure techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, assertive training, solution-focused brief counseling, motivational interviewing, client-centered counseling, cyber-counseling, and art psychotherapy, are effective in improving students’ self-disclosure, as evidenced by statistically significant results (p < 0.05). Additionally, some approaches also contribute to increased self-compassion and reduced bullying behavior. Therefore, group counseling is considered an effective and flexible intervention, and school counselors are recommended to apply various techniques contextually based on students’ needs.
