Learning motivation is one of the important factors in supporting the success of early childhood learning. Early childhood children have active characteristics, enjoy playing, and learn through direct experience; therefore, learning methods that are appropriate to their developmental stage are needed. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in building learning motivation through the play while learning method in early childhood education. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature study (library research) design. Data were collected from various literature sources, including books, journal articles, and previous studies relevant to the research topic. The data analysis technique used content analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that teachers play an important role as facilitators, motivators, mentors, and learning managers in creating an enjoyable learning environment. The play while learning method has proven effective in increasing children’s learning motivation because it encourages children to become more active, enthusiastic, and directly involved in the learning process. In addition, play-based learning also supports children’s social, emotional, and creative development. Therefore, the play while learning method can be considered an effective approach to improving learning motivation in early childhood education, especially when supported by teachers’ creativity and innovation in managing the learning process.
