This study aims to analyze the psyche of the main character, “I,” in the short story titled “How I Met the Person I Had Executed” by Era Ari Astanto. In this study, the author employs a descriptive qualitative method using Abraham Maslow’s psychological analysis approach. This approach serves to examine and analyze an individual’s psyche, with the research findings indicating that, through the lens of Abraham Maslow’s theory, this short story depicts a psychological tragedy resulting from the loss of basic needs.
