Traditional games are a form of cultural heritage that should be preserved from an early age. However, technological developments have reduced children’s interest in traditional games. This study aims to describe the use of the traditional game competition Cublak-Cublak Suweng during Independence Day celebrations as an effort to preserve culture in elementary schools. The method employed was a literature review of national scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025. The findings indicate that Cublak-Cublak Suweng contains cultural, moral, social, religious, and character values, including honesty, responsibility, cooperation, and sportsmanship. The implementation of the competition provides enjoyable learning experiences while introducing local culture to students. The activity also enhances social interaction, fosters pride in national culture, and supports cultural preservation in schools. Therefore, the Cublak-Cublak Suweng competition can serve as an educational and strategic medium for preserving local cultural heritage in elementary schools.
