<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the impact of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and viral content pressure on the mental health of the younger generation, particularly in the context of learning and social development. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed. The research subjects were selected based on various literature studies on Generation Z (upper-grade elementary and junior high school students) who are active social media users. Quantitative data were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire, while qualitative data were obtained from semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that high social media usage duration (an average of 5.2 hours/day) significantly contributes to increased anxiety, depression, and FOMO. Multiple linear regression analysis confirmed that social media duration, cyberbullying, and social comparison collectively have a significant effect on adolescent anxiety (R-squared = 0.612, p < 0.05). The psychological impacts include difficulties concentrating on studies, reduced self-esteem, and social media addiction, while the social impacts include a decrease in offline social interaction and increased vulnerability to cyberbullying. This study recommends the need for values-based digital literacy, the strengthening of emotional intelligence, and guidance from parents and schools in managing digital media use so that it does not disrupt the learning process and social balance of the younger generation.]]>
