<![CDATA[The childfree phenomenon, defined as the voluntary decision of married couples not to have children, has become increasingly discussed among young generations in Indonesia. This phenomenon is influenced by social changes, modernization, globalization, and the growing influence of digital media. This study aims to analyze the factors behind the childfree phenomenon and examine it from Islamic and social perspectives. The research employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from scientific journals, books, and relevant previous studies discussing childfree, marriage, family, and Islamic values. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis involving data reduction, classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that childfree decisions are influenced by economic considerations, career orientation, educational background, mental health concerns, personal experiences, and changing social values. From a social perspective, childfree is viewed as an individual's right to determine life choices and reproductive decisions. However, within Indonesian society, which highly values family and lineage, this phenomenon often generates controversy. From an Islamic perspective, having children is considered one of the important objectives of marriage and is related to the preservation of lineage (hifz al-nasl).
