<![CDATA[The Green Economy Index (GEI) is an important instrument for evaluating sustainable development by integrating economic, social, and environmental dimensions. This study aims to analyze the economic pillar of the Green Economy Index in supporting sustainable development in West Java Province using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) approach. Annual secondary data for the period 2010–2023 were analyzed using stationarity, cointegration, and forecasting procedures within the VAR framework. The results indicate a long-run relationship among the economic pillar indicators, suggesting that changes in one indicator are associated with adjustments in the others over time. The forecasting results show that carbon emission intensity and final energy intensity tend to increase in the coming periods, while GRDP per capita remains relatively stable. Rice productivity and industrial labor productivity are projected to improve, whereas oil palm productivity, aquaculture productivity, and service labor productivity exhibit fluctuating trends. These findings suggest that the economic pillar of the Green Economy Index provides a useful framework for assessing sustainable development in West Java. However, the projected increase in energy use and carbon emissions indicates that stronger energy efficiency measures and low-carbon development policies are needed to support sustainable economic growth.]]>
