This study aimed to determine the effect of the Montessori approach assisted by the Wordwall educational game on the early reading skills of first-grade students at SD Negeri 105315. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 28 first-grade students at SD Negeri 105315. Data collection techniques were conducted through early reading skill tests in the form of pretests and posttests. Data analysis was carried out using the normality test and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the students’ average pretest score was 52.54 and increased to 86.64 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test results indicated a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that Hₐ was accepted and H₀ was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the Montessori approach assisted by the Wordwall educational game had a significant effect on the early reading skills of first-grade students at SD Negeri 105315. This approach was able to create an active and enjoyable learning environment while improving students’ motivation and reading abilities.
