This study aims to analyze the effect of Cyber Extension as a risk communication medium on community preparedness for the Mount Merapi volcanic eruption. The research was conducted in Disaster-Prone Areas (KRB II and KRB III), covering Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, and Paten District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a quantitative-dominant research design. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire survey involving 273 respondents, who constituted the study sample and were selected using purposive sampling. Qualitative data were obtained through field observations to support and enrich the interpretation of the quantitative findings. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively as supporting evidence. The Cyber Extension in risk communication variable was measured using four dimensions: risk message, risk dialogue, risk field, and risk government, whereas community preparedness was assessed across three dimensions: pre-disaster, during-disaster, and post-disaster. The results indicate that the implementation of Cyber Extension in risk communication was rated high across all dimensions. Likewise, community preparedness was categorized as high throughout all disaster phases. Cyber Extension has a positive and significant effect on community preparedness for the Mount Merapi eruption. This study contributes to the field of disaster communication by demonstrating that Cyber Extension serves as a digital risk communication approach that effectively enhances community preparedness and resilience in disaster-prone areas. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Cyber Extension sebagai media komunikasi risiko terhadap kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana erupsi Gunung Merapi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kawasan Kawasan Rawan Bencana (KRB) II dan KRB III yang meliputi Kecamatan Cangkringan, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, dan Kecamatan Paten, Kabupaten Magelang, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain dominan kuantitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui survei menggunakan kuesioner terhadap 273 responden yang sekaligus menjadi jumlah sampel penelitian, dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan memperkuat interpretasi terhadap hasil analisis kuantitatif. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif sebagai data pendukung. Cyber Extension dalam komunikasi risiko diukur melalui empat dimensi, yaitu risk message, risk dialogue, risk field, dan risk government, sedangkan variabel kesiapsiagaan masyarakat diukur melalui dimensi pra-bencana, saat bencana, dan pascabencana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Cyber Extension dalam komunikasi risiko berada pada kategori tinggi pada seluruh dimensi. Kapasitas kesiapsiagaan masyarakat juga berada pada kategori tinggi pada seluruh tahapan bencana. Hasil analisis SEM-PLS menunjukkan bahwa Cyber Extension berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana erupsi Gunung Merapi, Kontribusi penelitian yaitu Cyber Extension merupakan pendekatan komunikasi risiko berbasis digital yang mendukung peningkatan kesiapsiagaan dan ketangguhan masyarakat di kawasan rawan bencana.
