<![CDATA[The transformation of local food systems has become an important issue in supporting sustainable agricultural development and strengthening the economy of indigenous communities in Highland Papua. This study aims to analyze the transformation of local food and its impact on the agricultural economy of indigenous communities in Lanny Jaya Regency, Highland Papua, Indonesia. The research used a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach through field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The respondents consisted of indigenous farmers, traditional leaders, women farmers, and local government representatives selected through purposive sampling. The study found that local food commodities such as sweet potatoes, taro, bananas, and local vegetables remain the primary food sources of indigenous communities, but modernization, market expansion, and changing consumption patterns have influenced traditional food systems. The transformation of local food has contributed positively to household income, market accessibility, and agricultural productivity. However, challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, low technological adoption, and decreasing interest among younger generations in traditional farming practices. Strengthening local food policies, agricultural extension services, and community-based agribusiness development are necessary to maintain food sovereignty and improve the welfare of indigenous communities in Lanny Jaya.]]>
