Mosquito-borne diseases caused by Aedes spp., including dengue, chikungunya, and Zika, remain major public health concerns in tropical countries. This study aimed to integrate breeding place surveys and the preparation of Aedes spp. developmental-stage specimens as an innovation in Living Lab-based parasitology learning. A descriptive-exploratory study was conducted at Campus 3 of Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro using a Living Lab approach. Potential breeding habitats were surveyed, and mosquito specimens at different developmental stages (eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults) were collected, identified, and prepared as entomological specimens. The quality of the specimens was evaluated based on specimen integrity, morphological clarity, neatness, and ease of identification. The survey examined 75 water-holding containers and identified eight breeding sites positive for Aedes larvae, predominantly in aquatic plants and water storage containers. Morphological observations successfully documented key characteristics of all developmental stages. The prepared specimens demonstrated good overall quality, with clear diagnostic structures that facilitated identification and learning activities. The integration of breeding place surveys and specimen preparation provided authentic learning experiences, enhanced students’ practical skills in medical entomology, and produced sustainable learning resources.
