<![CDATA[Stunting remains a significant public health problem in Sorong Regency, particularly among the Moi Indigenous community, where low family nutrition literacy, limited utilization of locally available nutritious foods, and socio-cultural factors continue to hinder effective prevention efforts. Stunting prevention programs that fail to incorporate local cultural values often result in suboptimal community acceptance and intervention outcomes. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of Moi families regarding stunting prevention through the implementation of the culturally based SAGU-MOI (Sayang Anak Gizi Utama) model. The intervention consisted of nutrition education, interactive discussions, demonstrations of preparing nutrient-rich sago porridge using local food ingredients, and family mentoring. The program was conducted on April 6, 2026, in the working area of Sayosa Community Health Center and involved 40 participants, including mothers of children under five and community health volunteers. Participants' knowledge and skills were assessed using pre- and post-tests. The proportion of participants with low knowledge decreased from 80% to 5%, while those with high knowledge increased from 5% to 87.5% (p = 0.001). Practical skills also improved substantially, with the proportion of participants in the poor category declining from 70% to 2.5% and those in the good category increasing from 7.5% to 87.5% (p = 0.001). Participants actively engaged in both educational sessions and hands-on local food preparation activities. In conclusion, the culturally based SAGU-MOI model effectively enhanced the knowledge and practical skills of Moi families in preventing stunting through a culturally responsive educational approach.]]>
