Abstract

Background: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global development agenda comprising 17 goals and 169 targets. One of the SDG targets by 2030 is to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR) to less than 70 per 100,000 live births. Globally, the MMR has decreased by 34% from 2000 to 2020; however, it remains high and has not yet met the target. One of the factors influencing MMR is the nutritional status of pregnant women. Indonesia ranks fourth in the world for the prevalence of chronic energy deficiency (CED) among pregnant women, with a rate of 35.5%. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bantul Regency recorded the highest number of CED cases in 2021, with 1,432 cases. In 2023, Pajangan Public Health Center reported the highest number of CED cases in Bantul. This study aims to determine the relationship between husband support and pregnant women's knowledge of nutrition in the working area of Pajangan Public Health Center, Bantul Regency. Methods: This research used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 70 pregnant women were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Fisher-Freeman-Halton Exact Test. Results: The Fisher test revealed a significant association between husband support and pregnant women's knowledge of nutrition (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: Husband support plays an important role in increasing pregnant women's nutritional knowledge. Therefore, nutritional interventions during pregnancy should involve husbands to support maternal and fetal health.
