<![CDATA[In contemporary theological and societal discussions, gender equality for women is a critical issue. However, not much research has looked at Sufi mystics with regard to gender equality, especially the ideas of Rābiʿa al-ʿAdawiyya. The article examines Rābiʿa al-ʿAdawiyya's conception of divine love (mahabbah) and how it might contribute to current Islamic discourse on gender equality. First-hand traditional Sufi scriptures and additional sources on gender research and Islamic feminism were examined as part of a qualitative literary examination. The results suggest that Rābiʿa's philosophy of divine love emphasizes equitable theological ability over everyone, no matter gender or social standing. Her principles lay philosophical groundwork to theological equality, challenging patriarchal understandings and being grounded in Islamic spiritualism. This research adds the expanding discipline of Islamic gender research through offering a philosophical and moral viewpoint upon gender equity and emphasizing the enduring importance of traditional Sufi philosophy when considering current issues of equality, humanity, theological understanding, and the encouragement of equitable gender dynamics in Muslim societies nowadays.]]>
