<![CDATA[The agricultural sector is the backbone of the national economy but peasants in rural areas are often stuck in the quagmire of structural poverty due to their dependence on middlemen and long distribution chains. Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2025 launched the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) program as a strategic intervention to build village economic sovereignty. This study attempts to analyze the potential of KDKMP in improving the welfare of peasants from the perspective of the Pierre Bourdieu theory of practice. The present study is qualitative in nature and uses a narrative review of literature design. Data from relevant government legislation, scientific literature and policy documents. The literature was interpreted using Bourdieu's Theory of Practice as the analytical framework. The results of the analysis show that KDKMP is not necessarily successful because of the risk of domination of local elites that can turn cooperatives into new “fields of corruption”. In addition, there is a hysteresis phenomenon, where old farmers experience a devaluation of cultural capital due to their inability to adapt to the forced digitalization of agribusiness. This program risks becoming a mere administrative symbol if it only pursues bureaucratic targets without the substantive participation of the community. Without transparent governance, KDKMP can strengthen power asymmetry and reproduce the initial capital inequality between actors. Further empirical and longitudinal research is needed in various rural areas to verify the real impact of the program on the welfare of farmers and test the effectiveness of financing mechanisms and habitus transformation in the field.]]>
