<![CDATA[Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is an evidence-based perioperative care approach aimed at accelerating patient recovery, reducing complications, and shortening the length of hospital stay. As ERAS implementation expands across various surgical specialties, scientific publications on the topic continue to grow. However, there is limited mapping of global research trends, key themes, and the developmental trajectory of ERAS research. This study aims to analyze the global development of research on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) regarding postoperative recovery using a bibliometric approach covering the period from 2016 to 2025. A bibliometric method was employed using data from the Scopus database. A total of 460 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed. Data were exported in CSV format and processed using VOSviewer software to map publication trends, scientific productivity, country distribution, and keyword relationships through co-occurrence, network, overlay, and density visualization analyses. The number of publications on ERAS showed an upward trend during the study period, rising from 26 articles in 2016 to 75 articles in 2025. The United States was the leading contributor to publications. VOSviewer analysis revealed that the “ERAS protocol” was the primary research theme, showing strongassociations with postoperative recovery, length of stay, perioperative care, enhanced recovery, and guidelines. Overlay visualization indicated a shift in research focus toward the evaluation of clinical outcomes, while density visualization identified patient satisfaction, quality of recovery, health economics, and opioidsparing strategies as themes with low research density, representing potential directions for future research. The increasing number of publications indicates that ERAS has become an important evidence-based perioperative care approach worldwide. However, the limited contribution from Indonesia and the relatively 122 Journal of Nursing Care - Volume 9 Issue 2 June 2026 low research density on patient-centered outcomes, health economics, and opioid-sparing strategies suggest substantial opportunities for future research and broader implementation of ERAS in developing countries. Research on ERAS has evolved significantly between 2016 and 2025, dominated by themes such as ERAS protocol implementation, postoperative recovery, and the reduction of hospital stay duration. Bibliometric analysis highlights research opportunities regarding patient outcomes, healthcare service efficiency, and ERAS implementation in nursing practice, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia.]]>
