This research discusses the importance of learning evaluation in forming the character of students in elementary schools. This research was carried out by conducting a literature study. This research aims to describe the importance of learning evaluation in forming the character of students in elementary schools. Based on research results, evaluation plays an important role in determining whether learning is effective or not and whether or not educational goals are achieved. Teachers can learn more about students' abilities, learning difficulties, and their position in relation to their peers with the help of evaluation. In Elementary Schools, character education and learning evaluation are adapted to the cognitive abilities of elementary school students. Character education is a method for instilling character values in students at school. These values include knowledge, awareness or will, as well as actions to practice these values, whether they originate from God Almighty, ourselves, other people, the environment, or the nation, so that we can become perfect human beings. Teachers can make professional decisions about how to improve learning through evaluation. Evaluation should be carried out throughout the learning process, not just at the end of learning. Educators can obtain accurate information about students' abilities so they can make the right decisions in learning by carrying out an appropriate and comprehensive evaluation.
