<![CDATA[The background of this study is the suboptimal cognitive learning outcomes of students in history learning. This condition is indicated by the low level of student participation during the learning process, such as asking questions, engaging in discussions, and expressing opinions, resulting in students’ understanding of the material not being achieved optimally. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the implementation of the Snowball Throwing learning method in history learning for tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Dayun; (2) to examine whether there is an effect of the Snowball Throwing learning method on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history; and (3) to measure the magnitude of the effect of the Snowball Throwing learning method on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: class X1 as the control group with 30 students and class X3 as the experimental group with 29 students. Data collection techniques included learning outcome tests and documentation. The data analysis techniques involved validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, hypothesis testing (t-test), and N-Gain effectiveness test. The results showed that the Snowball Throwing learning method had a significant effect on students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history. The N-Gain score of 0.64 (64%) indicates that the Snowball Throwing learning method is effective in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in history.]]>
