Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher competence on strengthening the democratic character of eighth-grade students in Pancasila Education learning. Using a quantitative approach involving 74 eighth-grade students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, structured interviews and observations. Data analysis of this study used the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the study indicate that the role of Pancasila Education teachers of eighth grade at SMPN 29 Bandung has been running optimally. In addition, the results of calculations using SPSS show that there is a positive correlation coefficient value and is in the range of the category of quite significant or moderate (0.40 <KK ≤ 0.70), which means that there is a significant positive relationship between the Role of Pancasila Education Teachers (X) and the strengthening of Students' Democratic Character (Y). The implications of this study emphasize the importance of Pancasila Education teachers to continue to improve their competence and implement more varied, participatory, and contextual learning strategies in accordance with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum. The limitations of this study lie in the involvement of the research population, which is only focused on one class.
