This study aims to analyze the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, the effectiveness of learning evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of the national curriculum at SMA Negeri 2 Merangin. This research used a descriptive evaluative qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results showed that the PAI learning process had followed the standards of the national curriculum, but it was still dominated by lecture methods and focused on cognitive aspects. The learning evaluation had not been able to optimally measure the spiritual and affective aspects of students. The inhibiting factors included limited time, facilities, and teacher training, while the supporting factors included the principal’s support, teacher commitment, and the school’s religious culture. This study concludes that the quality of PAI learning still needs to be improved through more active and innovative learning as well as more comprehensive evaluation methods.
