Social stratification is the division of society into social strata based on economic status, education, power, and prestige. In the world of sports, social stratification affects access to facilities, training opportunities, the quality of coaches, and even the chances of becoming a professional athlete. Inequality in sports is often seen in the differences in access between the upper and lower classes, urban and rural areas, and men and women. This article aims to explain the relationship between social stratification and inequality in sports through a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the discussion indicate that economic factors, education, gender, and the social environment have a significant influence on sports participation and athlete achievement. Therefore, policies are needed to create equitable access to sports for all.
