<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the language errors in popular scientific articles written by eighth-grade students of SMPN 24 Semarang. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of listening and note-taking. Data were analyzed using the matching method by referring to the rules of PUEBI, KBBI, and error classification according to Corder's theory which includes the stages of identification, classification, and description. The results of the study indicate that students' writing is still heavily influenced by everyday conversational language styles. This study indicates that most students are not yet fully able to differentiate the use of spoken language varieties and formal written varieties, especially in applying morphological and syntactic rules in accordance with the standards of popular scientific articles. Errors found include ineffective sentences, affixation errors, and the use of non-standard words. This research is very important to be carried out to improve the quality of students' writing to be more systematic and easily understood by readers. Through this analysis, it is hoped that students can minimize the occurrence of language errors in the preparation of popular scientific works in the future.]]>
