<![CDATA[This study is motivated by the limited implementation of character education values in the learning process and the need for educational media capable of strengthening students’ character development. Literary works, particularly novels, are considered effective media for character formation because they contain various life values that can be internalized by learners. The novel Selena written by Tere Liye was selected as the object of study due to its rich representation of character values reflected through the behaviors and experiences of its characters. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and describe the character education values embedded in the novel Selena and examine their relevance to Indonesian language learning. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis methods. The primary data source was the novel Selena, published by PT Sabak Grip Nusantara in 2022. Data were collected through intensive reading, note-taking, classification, interpretation, and systematic analysis of textual evidence related to character education values. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the novel contains eight major character education values, namely hard work, independence, curiosity, reading interest, appreciation of achievement, friendliness, social care, and responsibility. Among these values, hard work emerged as the most dominant characteristic, as reflected in the main character’s perseverance in overcoming educational and life challenges. The study further indicates that Selena has significant potential as an instructional resource for character-based education and may be integrated into Indonesian language learning, particularly in teaching literary appreciation and review writing activities at the junior secondary education level.]]>
