Indonesian language learning is often monotonous because it is only carried out in the classroom and often uses lecture methods without involving students to play a role in the learning process, making learning in the classroom seem uninteresting. Student success in following learning can be determined by their mastery of writing skills when taking Indonesian language lessons. One of them is in the material of writing descriptive texts. This classroom action research was conducted to improve the ability to write descriptive texts of fifth-grade students at Ketileng 2 Elementary School by applying outdoor learning techniques using the PjBL model. This research was conducted for 2 cycles with each cycle consisting of 2 meetings and the subjects of this research were 21 fifth-grade students at Ketileng 2 Elementary School. Data collection in this study included interviews, observations, and descriptive text writing tests. In this study, there was a significant increase in the results of the research on students' ability to write descriptive texts using the PjBL model with outdoor learning techniques. This can be seen in the results of Cycle I which showed that 10 students (47.6%) achieved learning mastery, and increased in Cycle II to 17 students (80.9%). Furthermore, observations of student learning activities during outdoor learning using the PjBL model showed that students were more active and participated in the learning process. Consequently, in this learning, students participated directly and honed their vocabulary and sentence structure by observing the school environment. They also solved problems through group discussions to improve their writing skills.
