This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially on the topic of the Wisdom of Prayer (Hikmah Sholat). This condition is caused by a teacher-centered learning process, which makes students passive, less involved in learning activities, and unable to deeply relate the material to their daily life. To address this problem, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is implemented as an effort to improve students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Hikmah Sholat through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in grade VIII of SMP. This model emphasizes problem-based learning that encourages students to think critically, actively discuss, and collaborate in finding solutions to given problems. Data collection techniques include learning outcome tests, observation of student and teacher activities, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively to examine changes and improvements in students’ learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can increase students’ activeness in the learning process as well as improve learning outcomes on the topic of Hikmah Sholat. Students become more enthusiastic in learning, are able to express their opinions, and better understand and relate the wisdom of prayer to their daily lives. This improvement is reflected in better learning outcomes after the implementation of the learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in Islamic Religious Education learning, especially on the topic of Hikmah Sholat, as it creates an active, meaningful, and student-centered learning environment.
