<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to develop a Learning Video with a Metaphorical Thinking Approach to Improve the Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts. This type of research is ADDIE development research (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This research was conducted on students of class IX A SMP PGRI 01 Batu with the number of students in the first trial as many as 8 students and the second trial as many as 16 students. The instruments used in this study were essays and questionnaires. Essay questions to determine students' understanding of concepts are 5 numbers. Questionnaire to find out how the students responded as many as 14 questions. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that learning videos using a metaphorical thinking approach have met the valid category in the media and material aspects with a percentage of 87.2%. Learning videos using metaphorical thinking are said to be effective in increasing understanding of concepts in the first trial by 77.8% and the second trial by 83%. Student responses to the learning video increased in the first trial by 68% in the second trial by 78%.]]>
