<![CDATA[Culture in novels is important to study in order to understand the depiction of society's culture in literary works. This research aims to describe cultural elements in the novel Kemarau di Sedanau by Asroruddin Zoechni using a qualitative method and a literary anthropology approach based on Koentjaraningrat's theory. Data were obtained through library studies with techniques of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show the presence of cultural elements such as the Malay language; knowledge systems about nature, flora and fauna, and customs; the social organization of fishing communities; living tools and technology such as pump boats, docks, bicycles, radios, dugouts, and belian wood; livelihoods as fishermen, nyuloh, and traders; religious systems including prayer, reading the Qur’an, managing funerals, and performing ablution; as well as arts such as Zapin Malay dance and Malay music.]]>
