Instructional media play a crucial role in fostering effective and engaging learning processes. One type of media with great potential for use in biology education is the board game, as it effectively integrates elements of play and learning into a single activity. This study aims to analyze the development of board game educational media in biology through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study was conducted by reviewing 10 articles obtained via Google Scholar using the keywords educational media, board game, and biology. Data were analyzed through a process of identification, selection, evaluation, and synthesis of research findings. The results of the study indicate that board game media have been developed for various biology topics, such as symbiosis, biotechnology, the digestive system, the circulatory system, the reproductive system, viruses, and the animal kingdom. In general, the developed media meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, making them suitable for use in learning. In addition to supporting conceptual understanding, the use of board games also contributes to improved learning outcomes, analytical thinking skills, reasoning skills, collaboration skills, motivation to learn, and active student engagement during the learning process. Thus, board games have the potential to serve as an innovative learning medium that can support more interactive, engaging, and student-centered biology instruction.
