<![CDATA[This research focuses on the development of map media as a learning medium for the history of the entry of Islam into the archipelago by using maps as objects aimed at developing local history in Pekanbaru. The research also aims to determine the feasibility and implementation of tools in education that can be used by class X students at SMA 1 MUHAMADIYAH Pekanbaru. This research uses the method (research and development, implementation and evaluation). Data collection includes observation, documentation, and questionnaires involving material experts and media experts, as well as student responses. Students show increased interest and understanding of local historical locations through media development supported by barcode scanning on maps, media validation results ensure the suitability of the media and student responses that show a positive impact on learning motivation. This study concludes that using media and varying it in the world of education, especially history learning, makes learning to understand history easier and fosters a deeper appreciation of cultural heritage.]]>
