This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group guidance using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in improving the academic hardiness of students at MAN 3 Banda Aceh. The study was motivated by students’ academic problems, such as easily giving up when facing difficult learning tasks, avoiding challenging assignments, and showing negative thoughts toward academic demands. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants consisted of eight eleventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling based on low-to-moderate levels of academic hardiness. Data were collected using an academic hardiness scale based on the aspects of commitment, control, and challenge. The treatment was conducted through group guidance services using CBT techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value obtained from the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was 0.012 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. In addition, the N-Gain analysis showed a moderate improvement with an average score of 0.4758. Therefore, group guidance using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques was effective in improving students’ academic hardiness.
