This study was motivated by the persistently high levels of academic procrastination among students, characterized by a tendency to delay completing assignments, late submission of assignments, and a preference for engaging in other activities perceived as more enjoyable than completing academic tasks. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of content mastery services using short films in reducing academic procrastination among students at Muaro Jambi State High School 1. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group model. The sample consisted of 40 students selected via purposive sampling, comprising 20 students in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. The instrument used was a questionnaire on academic procrastination behavior that had been validated for both validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain tests with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results of the study indicate that there was a decrease in academic procrastination behavior in the experimental group after they received content mastery instruction using short films. The experimental group’s average pretest score was 113.2 (75.47%) and decreased to 87.9 (58.60%) on the posttest. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a calculated t-value of 34.826 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a calculated t-value of -5.201 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. The N-Gain test results showed an average N-Gain of -0.6957 for the experimental group, representing a percentage of -69.57% (moderately effective), while the control group had an average N-Gain of -0.5052, representing a percentage of -50.52% (less effective). Thus, content mastery services using short films have been proven effective in reducing academic procrastination among students at State High School 1 Muaro Jambi.
