This study aims to describe the implementation of innovative learning in enhancing student engagement and learning independence at MTs Dar Al-Huda Labuapi, West Lombok. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research participants consisted of the principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing The findings revealed that innovative learning was implemented through group discussions, project-based learning, presentations, collaborative learning, and the utilization of digital media. These strategies were effective in increasing student engagement, as indicated by higher levels of active participation, learning motivation, teamwork skills, and confidence in expressing opinions. Furthermore, innovative learning contributed to improving students’ learning independence through their ability to seek learning resources independently, manage study time effectively, and complete assignments with a high sense of responsibility. Supporting factors included teacher commitment, institutional support from the madrasa, and a conducive Islamic boarding school environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited technological facilities and differences in students’ ability to adapt to new learning models. The study concludes that innovative learning makes a significant contribution to enhancing student engagement and learning independence at MTs Dar Al-Huda Labuapi, West Lombok.
