This study was conducted to examine the relationship between self-compassion and flourishing, with gratitude serving as a mediator. Various problems experienced by senior high school students formed the background of this study. A quantitative correlational approach was employed, involving tenth-grade students from SMAN 3 and SMAN 5 Semarang selected through a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires that had undergone validity and reliability testing. Data analysis was conducted using regression analysis and mediation testing with the assistance of SPSS PROCESS Hayes Model 4. The results showed that self-compassion had a positive and significant effect on gratitude (β = 0.5338; p = 0.000 < 0.01) and flourishing (β = 0.3466; p = 0.000 < 0.01). Gratitude also had a positive and significant effect on flourishing (β = 0.6804; p = 0.000 < 0.01). The mediation analysis indicated that the indirect effect through gratitude was positive and significant (Est = 0.3632; LLCI = 0.2724; ULCI = 0.4610). Therefore, it can be concluded that gratitude partially mediates the relationship between self-compassion and flourishing. The findings of this study are expected to be beneficial for students and school counselors in promoting flourishing.
