This study was motivated by differences in students’ learning motivation in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at State Senior High School 11 Muaro Jambi, which are believed to be influenced by the family’s social environment. This study aims to determine the effect of the family’s social environment on students’ learning motivation. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study population consisted of 36 students in Class X E 1, while the sample was determined using purposive sampling, comprising 28 students; however, only 25 students completed the questionnaire, resulting in 25 respondents whose data were analyzed. Data collection utilized a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, and t-tests with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results of the study indicate that the family’s social environment has a significant effect on students’ learning motivation in the subjects of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education. This is evidenced by a t-calculated value of 3.622, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.714, as well as a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The regression coefficient of 0.190 indicates that the better the family’s social environment, the higher the students’ learning motivation. The extent of the family’s social environment’s contribution to students’ learning motivation is indicated by an R-squared value of 0.363, or 36.3%, while 63.7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
