This study aims to map the themes and research directions of augmented reality (AR) in elementary science education through a bibliometric approach. The method employed was bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software on Scopus-indexed publications from 2021 to 2026. Data were collected using keywords related to AR and elementary science education, then analyzed through co-citation, keyword co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling techniques to identify research theme clusters, author collaborations, and dominant keyword networks. The results revealed five main theme clusters: (1) design and development of AR media based on mobile learning, (2) the effectiveness of AR on student motivation and learning outcomes, (3) integration of AR into elementary science curricula, (4) teachers' perceptions and acceptance of AR technology, and (5) AR in inclusive and differentiated learning contexts. These findings indicate that AR research in elementary science education has grown significantly and shifted from technical studies toward more comprehensive pedagogical investigations. The study concludes that VOSviewer is effective for bibliometric research mapping and contributes an AR research roadmap in elementary science education for researchers and curriculum developers.
